Matthew Girgenti

Matthew M. Girgenti is a Managing Consultant at Jetty Partners. He works with law firms and in-house legal teams on internal, cross-border, and other complex investigations and advises organizations across industries on broader risk and strategic issues.

Drawing on his legal experience and Jetty Partners’ capabilities, Matthew conducts investigations under privilege in coordination with counsel, advances strategic objectives, and strengthens clients’ positions. He also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Prior to joining Jetty Partners, Matthew served as Counsel in the Investigations and Criminal Litigation Group at WilmerHale, representing financial institutions, multinational corporations, and high-growth companies in matters involving the DOJ, SEC, CFTC, FINRA, and other authorities. His work included managing subpoena responses, coordinating multi-jurisdictional evidence collection, and supporting executives and in-country teams operating in environments where they faced risks of detention or political exposure.

His legal practice also encompassed cybersecurity and privacy matters, complex civil litigation, and False Claims Act investigations. He helped preserve clients’ claims involving nearly $1 billion in potential government liability in a landmark matter before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and supported Fortune 50 companies on data security and compliance issues. His ability to translate complex legal and technical issues into clear, actionable insight reflects both his litigation skill and a disciplined, evidence-based approach to problem-solving.

Matthew began his legal career as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Before entering law, he held senior roles in political strategy and communications. That experience informs his work helping clients navigate sensitive, high-visibility issues.

As a risk advisor, Matthew brings a steady, pragmatic perspective, helping clients and counsel understand how legal exposure intersects with operational and reputational realities and make sound decisions.
